I have a crossfire pro that was purchased way back in 2019 or so and I am just now getting to put it together. When connecting my computer to the machine it is asking to update the device “crossfire” version 1.2ls. The current version appears to be v1.1. The problem is, I don’t have internet access in my shop. Is there a way to get around this?
Hey there! Just a quick note: you can download the file onto a thumb drive at home, and it should go smoothly. Just a heads-up, though – once you download it, you won’t be able to open it. But no worries, FireControl can! Good luck, and let me know if you need anything!
You can take the control box off the table and into an area where you have internet service.
You could also use your cell phone as a hotspot to provide temporary internet in the shop, provided that you have cell phone service in the shop.
That is what I did. I took it off of the table last night and brought it in the house. It appears to have updated.
If your shop is electrically connected to your house (i.e. the man breaker for your shop is in the breaker box for your house) and you want internet in your shop, you might use a power line internet adapter. My pole barn is 200 feet from my house and the power lines from my house feed my shop. I have a power line adapter and I connect the wire from the adapter part plugged into the power of the barn to a wireless access point so I have wireless internet in my barn. It isn’t extremely fast but it is good enough to play music from the internet and do downloads and access Dropbox to transfer cut files. It may not work for everyone given line noise and wiring differences but it may be worth a try.
