Cleaning, care and maintenance?

What type of cleaning, care and maintenance should be done on my Crossfire Pro? What do folks find most important?

Right now I am just changing water when it gets gross and wet vacuuming the grunge out at the same time. I’m running about 10 gallons (just over the bracket angle height) and have oversize drains into the three 5-gallon buckets which I partially fill.

I use borax in the water so it doesn’t get grimey It also hasnt rusted yet. I have been cleaning the crud off the rails bearings and lead screws frequently. There is a chemical that I use called gibbs. Its a bit pricey, but its a super high quality penetrant that I use on my rat rod to keep the raw steel from rusting up. I spray a bit on a rag and wipe everything down at the end of a day of cutting

I do use sodium nitrite and Physan 20 in my water (without dye which just stained unnecessarily). No rust so far. Cost is negligible.

I hear Sterling Cool plasma coolant … Does not leave any deposits on ganter or anything else and no rust on parts … And I use Fluid Film for all my machines … Been the best lube and rust preventative. I have found in the last 30 years…

I use Borax in my water, real light concentrate, but when it splashes on the rails it leaves a almost hard water stain. a quick wipe down with scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner clears that right up. WD-40 on the rails, but I might switch to way oil.
