Clean, dry air systems

Motor guard and two molecular sieve canisters.

My shop is 400 ft from the air compressor so the air gets cooled even more.

Well thats a new one on me, what the heck are molecular sieve canisters?

Bead canisters, sorry, the engineer is talking. The bead they put in them is classified as a molecular sieve. It collects water in the beads and can be regenerated by heating them to a specific temperature.

Oh, OK, gotcha. So the politically correct term is desiccant filter.

Yes, that is correct.

I love to see you using the correct spelling.

Yea, they may have made the language more user friendly, but kudos to us who invented it!

Queen’s English? When I worked for BP, I always worked with engineering people from the UK. They would say al-u-mini-um. I would say you mean aluminum. They would tell me not to mock the Queen’s English.

Certainly not the ‘Queens English’, virtuallly ALL of the elements in that same group end in ‘ium’. Aluminium would be correct. It’s Americans who screw it up.

That’s what they told me. Exactly…

Well us American’s are better at playing “Risk” so we can kinda say whatever…. We win!:us_outlying_islands:

The British Empire owned (controlled) 25% of the world’s land mass in 1920.

The champions of world conquest throughout history so far.

Myself I live in British Columbia. And if you look at the flag of British Columbia it has a big sun in it. What the sun means is when Britain claimed British Columbia the sun would never set on the British Empire anymore because somewhere around the world the sun would be on one of its territories.

One of my all-time favorite games. I have several versions of the original risk and then several newer variants.

Well, let the games for World Dominion begin! May the worst man win! :expressionless_face:

So anyways what was it we were talking about?

@Knick Clean Dry Air! Always the chase in Plasma cutting and at the cheapest price. However I’m adding up my Clean Dry Air spending…

2Stage Water separator - $70 (worked for 2 years. Probably because I was not cutting much and cutting primary during fall and winter. (playing outside during spring/summer)

MotorGuard kit $105

Derale 15300 $75

Flexiable high temp/pressure lines $70

Total as of 2025/9 = $320 to dry my air.

I ordered the Derale, hoses, and MotorGuard in the last 2 weeks. Still have to hook those up. I have been busy doing other projects. I appreciate everyones current help and past help. I have read over 1000 post in the last 2 weeks nailing down an unpowered solution.

Wow that’s quite an effort. I usually go to sleep after reading about 10–20 posts🤣

Been on the forum almost 2 years. I realize many of these questions have been answered many many times. So I try to respect peoples previous efforts and time

The Kootenay’s. I did spend quite a bit of time in Victoria when I did my sheet metal apprentice ship back in the day. I love the island.
