Change machine configuration on g code files

Short story long, u got a different power source and torch for my pro table. I have a hundred or more files all set with the cut hight and pierce high from my other machine that I’m having a nightmare fixing so I picked up a different one with a different torch . Would be cool if I could get into the cut files and just change those 2 things . A lot of the files in fusion I erased the hole design or the setups and cut path information because I’ve only had fusion for like 2 years and started with zero knowledge and is actually the first computer I’ve ever owned and the only program I have learned so running blind for quite some time I’m fairly ok at it these days but dam I don’t want to have to re draw all this stuff from scratch again for my customers . I’m sure there’s a way dump it on me simple if ya can I’m just a blacksmith not a tech guy at all . Thanks for any help ,

Was there something about the new machine or the old one that required a different pierce and cut height? Most machines should be fine with a .15” pierce height and .06” cut height. Notable exceptions would be Hypertherm Sync machines and Thermal Dynamics.

If necessary, you could open the files in Notepad and manually edit the pierce and cut heights. They should be labeled in the code like this:

G0 Z0.15 (Pierce Height)

G1 Z0.06 F100.0 (Cut Height)

You would have to change it for each cut loop in your file, which could be time consuming on larger files. There are ways to search for a particular line of text and replace it with another, but I’ve never done it. Some other forum members could probably advise you on that.

In notepad you can go to edit and click replace. it will give you the option to replace all.

Yes the actual hight in my table was not what the table was showing lots of messing to get the pt60 to cut worth a dam. Now I’m using a x45 and a different machine and I have it at a different hight than were the 60 was at.
