For those with an enclosure, has anyone considered running the Y axis motor and limit switch cables directly out and the X axis along the side of the enclosure? Seems like they could be kept out of the way, making things cleaner and easier to take care of? Obviously, Z and spindle would need the overhead system.

I’m just finishing up my install and it seems like running everything to the overhead pole isn’t needed if you have an enclosure.

However, since I don’t have a single hour of the machine yet, I don’t know the issues that such an idea would cause.

I drilled a hole directly behind the Y motors on each one. as i found the wires were not long enough for where i wanted to put the box

The wires do not get in the way, as long as you put the control box in its designed location.
