Looks good. The main issue I have with the stock doors is that the one opens directly into the monitor screen. Have a feeling that it might lead to broken monitor.
This is why I did the sliding doors to get away from that problem .I have one or two more mods to do before I start to play . Next is air blast
I hope I got this right this time I tried uploading this link and it went weird more than once but here we go
AE95 - Check out the articulating monitor arms. Been a couple of people (including myself) that put these on their machines. It allows you to raise and lower the monitor to alleviate any problems that arise with the double doors.
Smiley I have an articulating arm on my build. Still have to be careful if you do not realize you lifted it up just a little and open the door! Well good by screen!
Yeah I see this on the couple of mods. But I went a different route by doing sliding doors where there is no obstruction outside while I’m working I can turn the screen at 90° to me and control what’s going on inside the mr1 but I have had a good look at what others are doing with their machines this is just my take on what’s going to be easy for me to work with and not take up too much space
Looks great my friend
The sliding doors are an amazing idea and they look great. Nice work.
With some help with my mr1 problem’s Jake got me set up to start using this unit this is the first thing I milled
I modified my monitor stand to allow it to swivel flat to the machine and added a small shelf that also folds flat. I modified the original MR1 monitor support to articulate to the side but decide I didn’t like the tilting monitor so changed it to mount vertical like a real VMC. The shelf allows me to stage collets and tools. Oh, and it looks kind of oddly built because I used scrap left over from a log rack I built for my daughter.
that is some nice work i like it .What is next
did your machine come with that many door magnet brackets stop things? or did you get extras?
I 3D printed extras.
can you shoot me the file if you have it handy still? I need like 5 more
