If anyone needs two lifting brackets for unboxing, and you’re in the Houston area, I’m happy to give them to you!

Hi PlasmaWrox,
Feel free to connect with me at support@langmuirsystems.com if you want us to send any replacements instead of buying them yourself. It’s a 11/32" nut. I’ll get in touch with the assembly team and make sure they are getting the nuts on the magnets for the enclosure. Thanks for the feedback.
Regards,
Sam

that is the wrench size? What is the actual thread? 10-24 or 10-32? or X-XX. I need a magnet and actually found what I think is going to be better for the long haul and keep the magnet off the box. The stack up I will be going with is a spaced off washer plate on the control box and then nylock nuts in the box with small washers. on the actual covers I will have potted magnets with spacers on the insides like they are but these magnets instead.

obviously not using the wood screws. my thoughts about having sintered magnets slapping to sintered magnets will cause them to crack easily. these will have longevity and since the washer hits the outside of the steel sleeve (if that makes sense) then it will last much longer when cycled for mount/dismount. I will share m results tot he forum when completed. they hit the porch on the 14th.

I just received my machine this past weekend and was less than impressed with some of the quality, fit and finish types of things I saw. Some were related to shipping issues (Something was stacked on on top of the machine at some point) but more disappointing were the things in Langmuir’s control. I will be mounting the back gauge system this week hopefully I have better luck there…

Missing Hardware to mount the machine to the pallet.

Leaked what appears to be a significant amount of hydraulic oil.

I bought the 110v to 220v optional transformer the box was soaked in oil. Luckily the transformer was packaged in a bag as well.

Had to disassemble the transformer to fish out the nut that had fell of at some point.

Only one cribbing block was still in the machine.

Seems like by now they would have that oil leaking taken care of. I would think they would send the oil in a jug and let the customer fill it.

They do seem to be struggling to get the problems resolved.

Hopefully the brake works as it should

Thanks for the feedback. If you have any photo evidence of something getting stacked on top of the machine, could you send it to me? It would help us process any possible claims with ABF.

The hydraulic fluid leaking during shipment is something we have solved but in cases like this where the shipping damage is significant I can see it popping up again. Those blocks are usually very aggressively hammered in there.

With how much leaked out, you should check your hydraulic fluid level. It should be at least 3/4" deep - we fill it to 2" so more likely than not you should still have enough. When replacing the expandable plug make sure to keep it relatively tight before you try re-inserting it - it is very easy to slip and lose in the tank if you keep the twist cap on it completely loose.

I’m almost done setting my machine up and have run in to a few problems, but have been impressed that Langmuir has been REALLY fast and customer-friendly through the process. And I would say that given the complexity, price point, and ambitious nature of this product, those of use that got “introductory pricing” are “being paid” to help them work out the kinks. Not an uncommon practice, but not exactly what I was expecting either… Time will tell if I regret being an early adopter as I generally just want things to work instead of spending time making them work. (why I hate most 3d printers!) But I do know that they offer a unique tool in the land of press brakes. There’s nothing else out there with this combination of price point and capability… In all my years of pining for a press brake the closest thing I’ve found to this is the Baleigh unit at $20k, with crap software and poor looking quality.

Those of us who got introductory pricing are being paid… I love these types of statements.

How can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meet?

I will give you something to cry about

Its like rayeeaaaaiiiiyyyynnnnn on your wedding day

its a freeeeee riiiiiiiiiddddde but you just had to pay

what goes around, comes around

mine leaked
my magnets were broke and the nuts were never installed only realized after running a video scope in my control box because FOD left in a computer box is bad. had to confirm they were not there.

What does all that mean? I am lost

Nice, any chance you could share the DXF file?
I have not had any time to assembly ours yet, but getting it onto the legs and stand, I feel, will be the biggest challenge.

If you are looking for the lifting brackets they are on file share

As Nick said, I got the file from FireShare. It’s a free download like always.

Thank you, honestly, I did not know a fileshare existed. So that is great.
Got my metal fab shop to cut me some yesterday.

I am lucky, I have a forklift. It was just where and how to lift that I was concerned about.
