Cutting multiple pieces out of 3/8 plate, how much space do I need to leave between parts?
If you are making multiple copies of the same parts, a 1/4" setting should be sufficient. When cutting 3/8" plate, be mindful of the duty cycle shutdown on the plasma cutter. Small parts shouldn’t cause any issues; however, if the cutter is running for more than a few minutes, you should be cautious. If you are using a Hypertherm or a larger Everlast plasma cutter, you may not encounter this problem as frequently.

What kind of 3/8 plate?
If it was aluminum I might go a little wider.
And depending on how long the parts are I might change up my workflow a little bit as well.
When I cut long strips of aluminum I have the program nip that’s in off cut in between parts so it doesn’t build up tension and start to Crown the sheet.
