Z axis not working manually

Hi there new to this forum I have a crossfire with z control . My z axis control was working and now stop working I have checked all my wiring nothing seems to be out of place manually able to control x and y ok but no z control the read out says it’s moving but nothing happens just wondering if anyone else had a issue like this and if so what was the fix. Thank you!

Did you perform any troubleshooting?

Does the motor shaft actually spin? Cause if it does, then maybe the coupler is loose and doesn’t turn the lead screw.

If it doesn’t spin, unplug and reconnect the cable to the port on the control box.

If it’s connected fully, then unplug your other ports, and plug your Z axis to another axis and see if moving that specific axis works the Z axis motor (keep in mind, you’ll want to change your manual speed to something slow or at least in small increments).

But most importantly, you didn’t state whether the shaft on the motor spins or not.

i am having this problem as well. My motor shaft does not spin. the motor makes a sound every time i try to manually move it, but it is stuck at the bottom. i tried plugging my z axis into the y axis but it did the same thing, sound but no movement

@Robert.kerr Welcome to The forum.

There is a small coupler between the screw shaft and the motor.

This coupler may be loose and not transferring the rotation to the screw?

Welcome to the forum. Try turning the coupler by hand with no power applied to the control box. This will give you a sense of bindiing or slipping. It should turn fairly easily unless it’s stuck.

it is stuck so i cant get to those screws

Did you turn off power to the control box? It is hard to turn the motor if it’s powered.
