My z axis out of nowhere during a cut lifted off and started firing some few inches above the metal. Looking at the sensor in there, it’s touching the whole time never coming off of it. Not sure if that’s right or what.
The switch stays closed until the torch touches the metal and the motor keeps driving down until the switch opens.
If there is a bad connection in one of the IHS switch wires, the system will think the switch is open and raise the Z axis to prevent a crash.

can also be caused by improper material (ground) connection to metal being cut

I also experience that when my ground cable (work cable) is in too close of proximity to other electronic cables and components.
