A buddy sent this to me and its truly amazing. Enjoy
Very cool. The chess player really had me perplexed. Loved the swan and its ability to catch a fish and eat it. But the most important part for me, was to see Tin as a young boy/bot with his shirt off:
No wonder he gets by with 3 hours of sleep each night.
And I thought I was making some neat stuff till I saw the doll made in 1770 writing a sentence. Unbelievable
You’ve got too many distractions to be a 1700’s artisan:
- Food
- Shelter with flushable toilet
- Healthcare
- Langmuir forum
- More than 8 hand tools
- Youtube
- Transportation
That one guy that made that town scene with nearly 200 individuals depicted was basically a slave. Some of it really painted a bleak existance.
But you are right that without the conveniences of BigDaddy’s milling machine, those guys were making parts and tiny screws to near perfection at the only table in their house. And then died when they could no longer do their skill.
And didn’t learn a new one! Most likely because THEY had no time to learn something new. Hint, Hint…
Died the next day. Worked right up and thru retirement. Bleak. If I could be talented like them, I would not like to go back to that time.
