Yay, it's New Tool Day!

Oh I wasn’t looking at practicality I just think it’s cool I kinda have a thing for old tools. They are interesting to see in operation.

What troubles were you having?

Do you feel a little sorry for all the children’s presents that were displaced for your press?

I bought these two new tools to try out in my service pack out.

Use the strippers quite a few times. they’re great for cutting fine braided wire.

And this socket set with the pass-through sockets works well for motors and assemblies

I have bought several Knipex tools. They are very good.

I’ve never heard of pass thru sockets but can see their use immediately. Mighty fine stripper you got there.

Gearwrench was the first that I know of for pass through back in 2005? 3/8 and 1/2 drive. Handy

That pass through ratchet set was the second tool I bought from that new Klein KNECT line.

I’m trying them out I’m looking at buying another set, maybe. Still needs a little bit more field testing.

When I just went searching for the link to their site I noticed they had released another several different tool sets since the last I looked.

I also have the 11 a new one HVAC screwdriver. But some of the bits have already been misplaced. I think it might have been the apprentice’s fault.

What I really need to do is pull apart my whole service bag load out and go over it. I should weigh it also. I bet you it’s 50 lbs.

I love pass through sockets. Work great for nuts where a suspension component has a stud where it can be held with an allen

I wish I could use zip ties all the time! My employer still mandates wax cord for anything not outdoors.

I’ve had many knife sharpeners over the years. I got yet another one for Christmas, Work Sharp RKS™ Rolling Knife Sharpener. I worked on a knife for about 20 minutes and never got the burr as in all the instruction videos.

Fortunately, I also bought a digital microscope for SMT board rework (I’ve had several of these as well).

Closely examing the edge revealed status of the ‘reprofiling’. This shows that I’m about 75% through the reprofiling. The worksharp comes with 320, 600 and ceramic.

Why didn’t I use a microscope before? Dumb guy here.

320 done to edge.

600 done to edge.

Finally, I can slice tomatoes!

I already own a digital microscope but I’ve been curious if these sharpeners are worth a damn. What’s your take on it now?

I’ll let you know.

I have a problem…
