The windows pc seems to be shutting off when the torch lights. I have followed all the anti emf interference precautions (looping the usb, moving the plasma cutter far awy from the control box, making sure no plasma wires are looped around control wires, clamping the ground clamp to the far corner away from the control box). Nothing seems to work.

If you have a multimeter, check to make sure the control box is not connected to the table frame. One end of the shield is on the USB printer-style plug, and the other is connected to the table chassis. There shouldn’t be any continuity. The control board and the box must be isolated from the chassis. I realize you have an XR. These directions are for a pro, but it’s all the same.
