XR and Everlast 82i

Hi all, I am running an Everlast 82i on a Crossfire Pro and I have had good results. I am considering upgrading to the ZR and want to use my Everlast 82i. Anyone running Everlast 82i on the ER? Any issues? Recommendations?
Thank you.

You’ll be fine. The size of the plasma cutter has no bearing on the size of the table. Only impacts what you’re trying to cut.

Hello @mrrxl57,

The XR supports up to 85 amp cutter so as long as it fits within the machine torch mount, you shouldn’t run into many problems. I’d doublecheck the torch mount and if you do experience any issues with the XR, please feel free to contact us at Crossfire Support | Langmuir Systems or call us at our main line at (833) 526-4797.

Thank you Alex. Is the Plasma cutter connection on the Crossfire Pro the same as the XR? I made the cable to go from the Everlast 82i CNC port to the Crossfire Pro. I want to know if I can simply plug it into the XR or will I need to make a different cable/connection?
Kind regards,
Rene

The connection on the XR and the Crossfire Pro to their respective electrical enclosures are different. Did you use the t-tap connectors that came included with the Crossfire Pro in the Everlast 82i cutter’s electrical box? If yes, you would be able to use the existing t-tap connectors in the Everlast 82i but would need to use the cord that comes included with the XR.

Thank you, Alex, That’s what I needed to know. Looking forward to making the switch to Crossfire XR.

Kind regards,

How exactly does it limit itself at the 85 amp? I’ve got a 100 amp on my crossfire pro. Same size machine torch as the for the whole generation of hypertherms from 30 amp all the way to the 105

Hello @Sticks, the XR doesn’t regulate itself electrically from the plasma cutter’s size. We’ve noticed that other brands beside Hypertherm have slightly different machine torches so sometimes they aren’t compatible with our machine torch mount. I’m glad to hear that Hypertherm has the same machine torch from their 30 amp - 105 amp!
