There appears to be deformation of the gantry tube around the holes for the x-axis stepper motor mount causing the motor to be at an angle to the gantry tube when installed. This puts the lead screw in a bind. Do I have a damaged gantry tube or do I need to align the mount by some other means?

Yes that looks the face of the tube that the mount bolts two may have gotten bent during shipping. Our assembly fixture that assembles those components would not allow for this type of defect. We will send you a new gantry tube.

I just checked about 50 gantry assemblies in our shop and they all have very tight perpendicularity (checked with a machinist square). I am pretty certain now that yours was bent in transit.
