Wiring for multiple plasma cutter

Not sure if the picture worked or not. Never uploaded one on here. Anyway I have 2 plasma cutters (miller 625 and everlast 102i) I wanted to be able to switch them out if one crapped out so what I did was spliced in a 4 pin trailer plug to both units. Now just hook up the plasma and plug one “harness” in and boom it all works. It was a little tedious soldering the wires to the 102i plasma plug but got it and tried them both and they both work great!

That is a great idea…

my question have you cut with your Everlast using the CNC pins on the back?..any problems?

I ask because I have an Everlast62i and found the raw or divided voltage off the CNC pins to inaccurate.

I never checked voltage but it seems to work the same as the miller 625 did. I cut a little 3/8 ar400 , 1/2 a36 and a little 1/8 aluminum I was mainly just trying to figure out some speeds and amps to run it on and peirce time. I wired both to raw voltage (miller internally 102i pin 5 and 7 I think) I have had the crossfire for about a year and so far I don’t see much difference. I never could get the miller to cut as straight as I would like (bevel) but mainly on 1/2 steel. it isn’t terrible but I’m not a huge fan of having to grind bevel out of a round hole. I mainly blame myself for not really setting speeds where I should be. On the miller 625 I was down to 8ipm and still had some bevel. Thc was somewhere around .050. that’s been awhile ago don’t remember for sure. I’m definitely not a pro and probably not the guy to ask but that’s just what my thoughts are for now. Haven’t spent alot of time with the 102i to really know what it’s gonna do. From what I have read on here if the cnc port isn’t gonna work out I will just take the 2 wires off the cnc port and go to the 2 lugs in the machine but to soon for me to tell. I’m hoping the cnc port works out but time will tell

great information…are you running a Crossfire Pro with THC?

Yes. Crossfire pro with thc

I am impressed…you are one of the few people that have had success with the Everlast cnc pins and the Langmuir table…

I just got the 102i 2 days ago. Maybe they fixed the issue? Or maybe I’m just lucky. That’s usually not the case for me. If there is a .5 percent chance mine won’t work it usually dosent. But like I said it might be too soon to tell.

if you run into problems with the 102i…you might have to run raw voltage right from the lugs inside the box before they leave for the torch and material clamp…
