Windows 10 End of Life (Fire/Cut/CureControl)

Good afternoon,

Just wanted to make a centralized forum post here as Windows 10 will stop being supported after October 14th, 2025. I can confirm that FireControl/CutControl/CureControl should all work on Windows 11 without any needed changes from the user once updated.

There should also be no concern with updating the XR/MR-1 MC4000’s to Windows 11 as well. The only process that may be needed is to update the graphics drivers using the link on the machine’s assembly page which I will link below.

If there are any issues that do pop up after updating to Windows 11 just let us know either through this forum or reach out through our email support@langmuirsystems.com

XR MC4000 Setup Link: CrossFire XR Assembly Guide | Langmuir Systems
MR-1 MC4000 Setup Link: MR-1 Assembly Guide | Langmuir Systems

Thank you,
Zachary H

Well this begs the question, how long will FireControl continue to run on Windows 10?

I’m still running my Mach3 system on Windows 7…

Shouldn’t have any issues on Windows 10 in the long term either. Java tends to value backwards compatibility as much as possible so even if we update the Java version that we use, Windows 7+ should continue to be supported into the future.

check this out… win 10 support till 2032 if you convert it to LTSC
