Wiggly Back Gauge Fingers

Good morning! Finally using my new 25t… And my back gauge fingers ‘wiggle’ on the sliding rail. This makes them not nice and accurate or square in the end when using the back gauge… Only slightly off, but when doing wide bends it adds up quite quickly… Maybe an 1/8 to 3/16 of visible offset when ‘wiggling’ back and fourth… Thoughts?

What axis are they wiggling on? Which part is wiggling specifically?

They wiggle where they intersect the bar…

Is the rail itself wigging? Or is the bearing wiggling on the rail? Or is the assembly wiggling on top of the bearing which is solid?

Its the assembly wiggling on top of the bearing. I just looked, the bearing on the slide is solid… The two large hex bolts on top are quite tight…. I dont see how else these would tighten further…

So……… Survey Says?…

Which connection is the wiggling/loose one? I didn’t understand quite fully from your last comment.
Orange, Blue, Red, Green, Or Yellow?

(Also I will be out tomorrow and Friday and will be back on Monday)

The assembly between orange and blue is what moves.

The rest of the carriage is sound.

Thank you

Are the screws bottoming out before the clamping bar is fully tight to the sliding piece? I wonder if they’re a bit long or if the holes weren’t tapped quite deep enough in the mating part.

Once those top screws are tight, the only possible movement in the finger holding assembly should be back and forth on the linear guide till you lock down the locking lever.
