Why do some letters cut and others don't?

Been experimenting with different fonts. I found that some cut and some don’t based on the Bold and the Italic settings. So in the regular font setting it may cut some letters. In Bold they typically all cut and in Italic a complete crap shoot. Any thoughts?

if the geometry is smaller then kerf width and lead in it will not generate a toolpath.

TinWhisperer I have turned the lead in and out off and reduced the kerf in the tool to .040" its normally around .052", there abouts anyway. It’s weird I can change settings and it will pick and chose different letters. There TTF fonts made for plasma tables. Thanks for your thoughts.

What software are you using to generate the toolpath?

Sounds like Fusion. Set your Pierce clearance to zero as well.

Fusion 360 CAD/CAM. Still really new to CNC. I’m guessing it me not them.

That’s in the cutter settings?

Found it 2D settings.

I have found some fonts to be really poorly implemented with opens and overlaps on the vectors. Probably doing a vector check would be a good idea.

Okay willing to learn it. What is that?

I don’t know fusion well enough to give you the steps, but it would involve finding the start point and end point of the path and zooming in to see it they are closed. I believe Fusion will show a different line color for a closed vector vs an open one, but I’m not absolutely certain of this.

Post your f3d file from Fusion 360 if possible.

You can export it on the top left in the file system. Search f3d above and there’s a good walkthrough about it

Thank You I will try that.

Please let’s us what solved your problem once figured out.
Thanks

Copy that.
