There is a great Excel spreadsheet floating around (I think from Plasma Spider) that we have been using for years to calculate the cost of an item for estimates. It takes your material cost plus some up-charge times the cut size to figure out the material amount then pierce points at $.25 per and then a certain amount per linear inch of cut. We have been using $.14 per linear inch of cut but I was curious if anybody else has gone up or down from that number when quoting out. With material costs being up so much I’m hesitant to go up much more and I’m definitely not trying to compete with the ‘race to the bottom’ that seems to be Etsy lately.
