Water level height

hey guys, so im curious where everyone is running their water levels in the xr? i did not want to fill all the way to the top due to splashing from plasma so im about an inch away from water. should the water be all the way at the top to have metal in direct contact with water? has anyone cut down their slats to lower bed height?

I run mine to level of flats when cutting steel and 1/2" below Slatts when cutting aluminum. You will get a lot less water splash if you use Slatts that are notched. Cut these for my pro table, will do my XR table soon. The slats cut splash by approximately 60%.

oh wow very nice, thanks for sharing. can you post a picture when you do your xr?

Yes I will, be a couple months just had neck surgery.

Any chance you made any progress on this yet? Planning on doing the same for my xr and was curious what others have done.

It’s very easy to do. I designed two sided pointed slats, I call them saw tooth. I just leave a few inches on the ends flat so they sit right in the holders. This way you can flip them and double the use. I always cut with the table topped off, so water is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch away from material.
