Venting a water table drain/refill system

Has anyone found if necessary to vent either the drain side, the refill side, or both on the their water table drain refill system? I have built a nice 3 barrel system, 30 gallon each, under my new XR. Thanks.

Are you using air pressure to refill your table? I’m am not fond of pressuring plastic drums at any pressure. Lots have done it without any issues till they do….

If you have a pump to fill it, then yes.

It’s all set up to use low pressure. I decided to ue the lower 1-1/2” barrel bungs for the drain, and the 3/4” bungs on top as an air supply via my compressor, with a regulator I had put in line. Figuring with so much head space left in each barrel (90 gallons storage vs. 65 gallons from the table), plus larger rather than smaller lines top and bottom, plus only putting in 2 to 3 psi, I don’t see it being a problem. Thought vents on both lines would add a safety feature, plus help with draining and refilling. yes? No?

Depends on the regulator you’re using. An LPG regulator, sure, that will get you down into single digit PSI reliably. A standard air regulator? Uh, I don’t think so.
