Using sheetcam on seperate computer from firecontrol

I would like to use sheetcam on my desktop computer and transfer the file to my laptop to run the table.
will this work??

my office computer has sheetcam and cad program. Firecontrol is on a laptop in shop dedicated to table. All computers are on home network so files available to all. If no network you have to transfer files with flash drive between computers. They are cheap and available.

The method @dfreyfbn points out is my standard operating procedure. The only difference is that I use Mach3 instead of FireControl, but the process is the same.
