In the past, I upgraded my razorweld plasma cutter to use a dedicated machine torch after the regular handheld style torch bit the dust. I have since upgraded to a Hypertherm. I want to start using my razorweld as a handheld cutter in my shop for metal cutting. Problem is that I don’t know what kind of handheld style torch I need to get for it. It’s been years since I last had a handheld torch for it. What kind do I need to get? Amazon, eBay?
Hopefully you have the old hand torch still laying around, put a Hypertherm head on it.
OR put a Hypertherm head on your RW Machine torch,
OR buy a RW retrofit torch with the Hypertherm head.
This way you are using the same consumables for both units.
…OR…Buy a hand torch for the Hyperthem and just quick swap the torch when you need to use it not on the table,
I do still have the machine torch and lead/cord. Can I just take the machine torch head of and replace it with a handheld style? If so, great! What torch head do I need to go with? I would rather go with a cheaper style than the Hypertherm because I know it will get abused. Hypertherm consumables are expensive and with rather use a brand/style torch that won’t be so expensive to maintain.
If you want cheap because it’s going to be abused, just get a replacement razor weld torch.
