Upgraded machine torch holder

I’ve got my new machine torch holder guides installed and they work very well. It keeps the torch head very stable along with the ease of changing the consumables. The torch had an odd sizing to the body but Steve was wonderful working with to make sure I got what I needed.
disclaimer (I have no association with this company and paid full retail for the set. Just passing along an experience upgrading my torch holder).

Thanks for the info. Very nice design.

Looking great sir!

Would you mind laying out your thumbscrew and additions. I’d be willing to bet, there are a bunch of folks liking what you did there.

Steve.

I’m going to be needing a machine torch holder as well.

Feel free to message me here sir.

Thank you!

To extend out the knurled knob I just took a 1/4"x20 n/c extended (coupling) long nut 1.5" long and threaded the knob into 1 side of it and a 3/4" long all thread 1/4x20 n/c into the other side of the extended nut, I also put regular backing nut 1/4x20 n/c to hold the all thread in place. All of it was assembled with thread locker. Cost was about $1.00

Here is a better picture of the knob, I probably could of gotten away without using the jam nut since I put some thread locker on it but needed to use the cutter right away and didn’t wait for it to cure.

I was thinking red threadlock on the small piece of all thread and maybe blue for the knob on the end. Easy to revert back if you want to but not likely to vibrate apart.

I use red everywhere. a little heat takes it off anyway.

got the same ones. Had them for a while just installed. Upgraded from miller 625 extreme to a hypertherm pm85 with machine torch…the holders worked awsome. And that machine makes the Miller I had look like a joke
