Several issues here :
The accuracy and repeatability of the .10 cent cost micro switches langmuir opted to use will not hold tolerance, compounding that issue is the way they designed and fabricated the backgauge itself but I won’t get into that here. Installing precision micro switches will solve one of those problems as discussed here : Really cheap limit switches
2nd issue is the software bug which every single machine owner is plagued with - backgauge names will not save - those who don’t have a problem either didn’t purchase the backgauge or don’t have a titan… Langmuir has been well aware of this issue going on two years now - they refuse to fix it and openly admit they are not even concerned or working on solving it - while they sell and ship out new machines daily. Our only option is to forget using the backgauge memory at all - and go back to using a pencil and paper to manually enter all of your bending programs each and every time you want to make a bend, or hire a lawyer and try to get your money back. Sadly langmuir failed miserably at this one and even though they have in house software ‘engineers’ they refuse to address this major defect - they also refuse to release the source code https://forum.langmuirsystems.com/t/25t-users-software-feature-requests-and-issues/42727/47so that competent software engineers who are willing to fix this for free, can. another failure, another refusal to address this issue which is beyond frustrating to say the least. Sam tries hard, and does a decent job sending out repair parts for this janky company, but I can only assume his hands are tied when it comes to it comes to dealing with major design failures such as this.
The most pathetic part is langmuir continues to sell machines to people with full knowledge the backgauge memory is not functional. I guess their plan is to just not disclose that part and let the new machine buyers figure it out on their own after spending 100’s or hours programing settings and names over and over. great plan…
