Just bought a used table (1yr old) crossfire XR. I’m slowly figuring out how to set up. I linked my machine to FireControl and was jogging it around the table, then I sent it back to home and when it docked in the corner of the table, the torch lights turned off and it disconnected from my computer.
I’ve tried redownloading firecontrol but I cant seem to get it connected again or to get the torch lights on. There’s power to my control box and I can hear it humming, and the fuse in the back is intact but no table lights.
Your computer’s USB port powers the control board inside the control box. If FireControl is grayed out on the computer, you may have a cable issue. For the limit switches, go to the top right of the fire control panel, click on the three bars, turn them off, and then hit save. @Leemers
limit switches wont turn off torch lights. Maybe look and see if any cables got pinched when it homed
Don’t feel like to have to turn off the limit switches. There is a what appears to be what I would call a GANG of people on this forum that are spreading propaganda!!! There goal is to eliminate all limit switches worldwide. Please BEWARE
I didnt see any damaged cables. Also the machine didn’t come to a stop on any switches but I also dont know if it’s programmed to bounce off the switches before coming to rest.
I’m planning on replacing my computer cable tonight so I’ll try that as well
When homing The gantry will move to the back left comer and will stop when it contacts limits. It then moves back maybe a 1/32” and then the green light on the torch goes solid green. If the limits get tripped during operation the torch light turns red can’t remember if it flashes or is solid
Make sure to ask for a relay as well. This is because some currently installed controllers have their relay glued on making it a pain in the ass to remove and place onto the new board.
Ok, then it is the control board. If it wasn’t grayed out, I would have you check the power supply inside the control box. The control board is powered by your computer’s USB. Langmuir is very reasonable and may even send you one. I cannot speak for them, but they have always been super helpful. Sorry about your situation. I had one go bad on my Pro and on my MR1.
Just make sure when you install it that it does not touch the control box housing. It will have isolation bushings behind it. The USB on the board is critical. Here is an example of a problem installation.
Thanks for all your help guys. I got a new board from Langmuir for free! Installed it and I’m good to go! Had a few troubles with limit switches but did my first few cuts.
