Torch keeps misfiring

Finally got the torch to fire after over a week of troubleshooting now I can only get it to move and cut a little bit before I get a warning and it stops firing I have tried changing the pierce delay and pierce height cant figure this out so ready to give up been at this since December 2024

Looks like incorrect settings from the get go.

The fact that the steel isn’t being cut through fully could be the result of -

Bad connection with the clamp to material to torch, although not likely here as I see it on the material itself

Improper cut height (have you measured and set this correctly?)

Improper speed and/or amps

Share more information with us such as the thickness material you’re cutting, and all your settings both on the plasma cutter and in your program

Last but not least, you should remove the thumb screw you’re using on your torch assembly as it is only used for the hand torch

Your machine torch mount comes with a socket head bolt to replace it with

And based on how you have things installed, you are bottoming out on your Z axis travel

You need to place the torch holder lower on the assembly itself, leaving a bit of room before bottoming out when your torch reaches your material

and lastly, ADD WATER TO THE PAN. You’re gonna burn a hole thru it eventually with no water in it.

looks like the z carriage is bottoming out since the torch is sitting so high up.

The torch mount needs to be slid down more in the holder. you wont be able to do that with that thumbscrew in the way.
