Torch firing late

Just attempted my first cuts. On a 1/2” circle the torch is firing about halfway around the circle. I’m using a Thermal dynamics cutmaster 52. Where do I need to look in settings to adjust this out?

You will need to increase the pierce delay. That step is done during the post processing step in Fusion 360.

My experience is thermal dynamics is they have a excessively long delay on the starts.(they say it’s for consumable life) If I remember mine ran about a little over 2 seconds on the first and about 1 second there after. I didn’t like this so I returned my machine have a Hypertherm 45xp now. My suggestion is to set the Pierce delay for about 1.2-1.5 seconds then go into the code when it posts and edit the first Pierce to about 2.5-3 seconds it should be listed as Px.x

Thank you. Yea I have been slowly upping it and it’s still not cutting the first cut like you said. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll see if I can get it dialed in

Having the same issues on my CM38. Let me know if you found the sweet spot… I don’t have enough free time to test and figure out as this is a hobby machine and I am still trying to learn the software. THanks for any help you can post!

I haven’t tried to back it down any lower but I have been making my g code with 1 sec delay. Save the file and then open it back up with notebook or something and change the first cut pierce delay to 2 seconds and save. When you load in Mach it will now be 2 seconds on first cut and 1 sec with the rest of cuts after. Works ok for me

I have had good luck with a 0.5 delay on my TD 38.
