I am getting to the end of assembly, and I have the razorweld 45 with the Machine Torch, do I still need the torch firing hardware or does the torch on/off cable on the front of the plasma suffice for that?
Define “torch fire hardware”
I bought mine 3 years ago. The only thing I did not use was the extra wiring that is for anything other than a Razorweld Cut45 bought from Langmuir.
I’m thinking you are talking about all the extra wiring but I’m not sure. You can also take a picture that will go along way to getting this solved quickly.
If you have the wires that plug into the ports on the front of the plasma cutter, you don’t need the stuff in the torch firing hardware bag. That stuff is for plasma cutters other than the razorweld that Langmuir sells.
Torch on/off cable goes directly to the torch on/off port on the electronics enclosure on the table.
If you have the THC, the divided voltage cable goes from the plasma to the DIV input port on the VIM (black plastic box). Another cable goes from the DIV output port on the VIM to the THC port on the electronics enclosure.
Yeah I got the THC and figured that out but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. Its an expensive piece of equipment and I’d hate to damage it due to negligence.
You are on the right track just don’t stick your tongue on the torch and pull the trigger.
Oh you can’t hold in in your hand and pull the trigger!!! Don’t ask🙄..
Yes I have pictures to prove it too.
That sounds very painful. I remember when I was doing the open test fires when I first got my system. When you have no idea what to expect. The sound of the torch is concerning
Yep it was I am glad the pilot arc didn’t transfer…. I knew better too.
@cazadorfab didn’t mean to derail the thread. Just adding a serious safety point after safety was mentioned.
