Tooling Information

Are there CAD files of the tooling? There is not enough information in the tooling catalog… such as die center to edge and die width. Both of these are very important for design and planning of parts. Also, what is the max tonnage per foot for the gooseneck?strong text

When I design parts I import a picture of the relevant tool using the canvas option and then scale it using the given dimension in the PUNCH & DIE guide. The other thing you will want to know is the width of the table - it is almost exactly the width of the 4-way die so I just use that. 2.362".

In terms of the punch maximum capacities, here are some general estimates:

  • Extreme gooseneck: 15T/ft.

  • Narrow 30 degree acute punch: 13T/ft.

  • Gooseneck: 26T/ft

  • Standard 30 degree acute punch: 20T/ft.

  • Heavy Duty 35 degree punch: 44 T/ft
