I have not yet.
I am ordering a Cross Fire Pro. Already have a Titanium 65 in my shop. Wondering if anyone on here is using this combination with success? The Titanium 65 is not on the recommended list from Langmuir but the 45 is.
Hello, has anyone tested the four switch din in the 65 for what it actually does? The schematic is lacking and it doesn’t even show up in it. I have read the comments of it being a way to change the preset 20:1 but what does each switch do? I have opened mine and it is on top. Thinking about cutting an access hole to make changes easier.
If you are going to go as far as modifying the case to adjust the output, it would seem to be simpler just to wire it to raw voltage. I am no expert, but it seems less likely to damage the controller and requires no permanent change to the machine. The above information walked me through, works like a charm.
If you are simply looking for information, this will allow me to tag along and learn something new.
Hello, thank you, I understand what you are saying but like was brought up earlier. Within the titanium 65 there is a 4 dip switch that may have given you the ability to quickly adjust the cnc port output. This was unclear in the schematic. I have both a Pro and an Arc droid. The arcdroid is admittedly very limited but the trace feature makes it a great addition. I would like the ability to swap between the Tin 65 with the Razor cut45 and not have to worry about the ratios. If HF had thought to include a cnc port why not adjustable ratios built in? Every cnc table I have seen uses 50:1 not 20:1. Choosing an oddball ratio didn’t make sense. Having opened the box it doesn’t seem to matter. It appears to turn on or off the cnc signal not change it.
You could add a couple resistors to the 20:1 circuit to further reduce it to 50:1.
The other option would be to run both the plasma cutters with raw voltage instead.
Just some ideas
Thanks, yes I have purchased a preset voltage reducer/ regulator from ampmechanic from the arcdroid forum. Several people have done so. It was designed for a 20:1 to be reduced to a 50:1 probably the same way Langmuir makes their device. I have the Langmuir setup on my Razor 45 on purchase as a set but have never used it on the Titanium 65. As you all probably have I have read everything posted on this and have read the horror stories of it burning out the THC . You read the trouble they go through to determine that it is now bad. Guess I have to roll the dice and try. Obviously I will put a meter to see my specific range being less than 3v before turning the THC on. I work in medicine, electronics are not my forte.
Yet you’re willing to ignore the advice in this thread of people who have successfully connected to raw voltage? Good luck.
Yes. There are four forums I follow. This was an old post from a month ago. I was responding to a posting in answer to my old inquiry," are the dip switches in a Titanium 65 used to change cnc ratio like a Hypertherm?", the answer is no.
My apologies, I was unaware you were trying to switch back and forth. Did you find what those switches actually do in the Titanium 65 or simply that they do not do what you would like?
So just to clarify, are those that have actually tested the 50:1 dip switch setting (1-3 Down / 4 Up) on the Titanium 65 reporting that it does not reduce the voltage output to approximately 2.4v?
