How does it not effect my crossfire control box? I get no interference while cutting, just the issue with the gfci.
Well, Im thinking all of them because one of this generators main selling point is that it is transfer switch ready to connect to your main panel. Says its safe to run all your delicate electronics this way.
Do you think it would trip at any setting, or just higher settings.
Welders and plasma cutters do not like GFIC circuits. It would most likely work if it were not on a GFIC. I will pop the GFIC in my shop if I tig weld to close to it and I am on a 50 amp 240 volt dedicated line.
Also the Hypertherm 380 is a chopper design and will run on almost all gen’s.
So to concur with @mechanic416 , who tends to know about these things, NO I would not expect a Generator with GFCI circuit to work at ANY setting, especially on a Langmuir FireControl system. The ground imbalances on that system are too ‘wild’ to be able to use GFCI.
But it will run, and cut 10guargr clean, and will also cut 1/4" but with a lot of slag. I just cant run it set over 23amps. I dont really need to cut anything thicker than 1/4" so I guess Im good with the Hypertherm 380, but I wanted to work out the issues with the Titanium so I have a spare or if I did have to cut thicker material.
Thanks for the help.
Yes. When its plugged in a set to 110v it wont go past 20amps. If its plugged into 220v but set to 110v it wont fire up.
