I have been having a lot of problems with my crossfire pro . So when Langmuir told me to do something for troubleshooting, I did it.
Sorry you have had so much trouble. @brownfox has been giving you some good advice I’ll leave you in his capable hands. I’m sure you will have this all sorted out in no time.
I appreciate your input . I will be following his advice.
Did you ever talk to hypertherm tech support
No I didn’t I only been calling Langmuir. Because I figured Langmuir would have said hey it your cutter. To be honest my cutter only came with the quick setup book. So I didn’t see the need to go to my book. This was my first big job and the first test. But I think I would give them a call
One other thing, it looks like there’s a lot of strain on that ground loop isolator hanging off your laptop. It’s probably a good idea to have those supported or on a short jumper cable, so there’s not as much weight hanging off the USB ports. It doesn’t take much for a solder joint to break or be making partial contact.
You can also play with the gas pressure the cutter is allowing by +/- 10psi on page 59 in owners manual. You might try adding 5 lbs to it and see how it cutts. I did this to my sync65 and it improved my cut quality.
This week coming up I will have my next job. So I will be trying to all these ideas.
May I ask you about sync 65 . Can you use sync tip from the sync 45 like the fine tip 30-45a ?
To be honest II don’t know. I use a fine cut 45amp for my sync65.
Hypertherm states that the fine-cut is compatible but you need to keep the amperage down to 45 amps.
But remember, fine-cut is not recommended for aluminum and it is not meant to be used with thicknesses greater than 4 mm or 10 gauge.
The sync wont let you over amp the cartridge. It sets it to the max amps for the tip. You can lower it but not over amp the tip.
