This issue seems more common on areas that are thin and run parallel, and only sometimes after making the last cut on the outline of a sign where the cut does not complete all the way and the project is left hanging on by an 1/8 inch of metal. I am banging my head against the wall trying to understand lead-in, lead-out, pierce delay, overcut, and feed rate.
After cutting this 18” round sign with a hummingbird, I still have this issue. I finalized this sign months ago and just got around to cutting this evening. I have no idea what the parameters were. That aside, if I am cutting 14 gauge steel, what are some of the settings you guys/gals are using for cuts that don’t hang on? I also noticed the initial burn through semi-circle, is there another setting for lead-in on these areas?
Crossfire XR, plenty of good dry air w/80 gal compressor, Razorweld Cut 45 set at 45 amps. New consumables.
This one was cut and powder coated and nearly every letter had a semicircle where the cutter started. Can really see it in the “N”.
