I have the Z axis motor and the THC installed/ The Z axis motor works. In fire control, in the height box it shows no connection, no manual selection either.
The Z axis and the THC are two separate things. The Z axis is driven by the stepper motor driver for that axis and will work with or without a THC installed.
The THC connection is between the computer and the THC board that gets installed on the motion control board inside the electronics enclosure.
If you aren’t seeing a connection to the THC, you should check the installation of the THC board. If the pins are not aligned as shown in the installation instructions, it won’t work.
