4 inch circle cut in 3/4 plate. bottom of the hole is bigger than the top hole. tapered out from top to bottom. All the way around. So the hole is slightly cone shaped perfectly . And cut is great. Other than the taper… Give me your opinion please.
If I’m thinking about this right I would guess feedrate is too low or worn consumables or torch traveling in the wrong direction.
And post some pics!! 3/4 is impressive! What plasma machine are you using?
I was thinking the arc was getting to wide in that depth. But didnt know. Im asking for someone else. They dropped 30k on a machine/table setup they claim. I havnt even seen it yet. there still working the bugs out like alot of us here are. I will try to get some photos and info sometime when im around there. My first thought was new consumables. He said did that. feed rate and direction i dont know. just a breif chat is all i had. Thanks for the possable causes.
Thought this was on a crossfire table…
No sorry . I seen the peice of metal though it was impressive in its self.
Check your swirl ring. Also make sure your torch is 90 degrees to the table.
Sounds to me like the cut height was too low.
what is the recommended cut height and does it change based on material thickness?
