Table starting and stopping

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been having a problem with the Crossfire XR that I have been using at work where it would start and then stop. For example the other day I was trying to cut out a part with a hole in the middle of it; it would cut out the hole just fine, but then when it makes the pierce for the outer geometry; it would just stop moving and continue to fire. The weird thing is that it doesn’t start having these problems until later in the day after we have already made a few burns. I’m not really sure what the problem is, if anyone else has had this problem please let me know.

‘At work’

Not sure where you work, what you do, but shops can include lots of different machinery and could cause EMI.

I remember working at a large fab shop and whenever a forklift would drive by, some of our auto darkening hoods would go dim until it was farther away from us.

Then there’s the HF TIG welders going on as we all had one at our stations for TIG welding stainless steel.

When the program stops running - does it continue to run normally after you stop it from firing? Are you having to do something to re-gain connection? Assuming the computer is communicating with the control box the entire time and there was no loss of connection? Share more with us with what you’ve found and what troubleshooting you’ve done.

I work at a fab shop, but all of our welders are on the opposite side of the shop. So there shouldn’t that much EMI.

When the program stops the monitor will freeze up, and I will have to shut everything down and turn it back on. But then when I start the program back up it will do the same thing.

I’ve tried replacing the board, but that didn’t seem to do anything.

that sounds like EMI for sure. have you tried replacing the usb cable? also adding ferrite chokes to the cable helps with that.
