Surface Pro question

Hey everyone, does anyone use a surface pro for running their crossfire pro. Considering buying one but wondering if anyone is using it to operate fire control and if there are any issues?

yup… Been running mine on a Surface pro 5 for about 2 years now.

I think you should qualify this question as to WHICH Surface Pro you’re talking about. Is it an Intel based Surface Pro or one of the newer ARM based versions? I’ve heard there are major compatibility problems with the ARM based version with SOME software. Maybe not FireControl, but you should make sure what you’re asking… and what you want.

I know that this is an old thread - but for anyone new considering a Surface Pro -

I repurposed my older Surface Pro 4 to my Crossfire Pro when I got a new one (damn Microsoft and their Windows 10 phase out). It seems to work fine and I like the fact that the power supply is isolated from ground via the power block with two AC wires. The only issue I’ve had is that the Surface is covered in magnets that attach the keyboard, pen, power connection, etc. They collect all the fine metallic grit from the shop, even if I don’t send grinder grit their way. Evidently from my hands, clothes, from the air, or by magic. A blast of air gets most of it off but I assume that eventually it is going to get to places where it shorts out something important. If I were buying a new computer specifically for the shop, this wouldn’t be it.

The back of my iMac does the same thing. So far so good, though.
