Strange cutting circles

When trying to cut bolt holes I am getting a oblong circle 5/8" and 3/4" hole

THC off because of THC issues

using a Everlast 82I cutting 1/2 mild steel 65 amp, 72 PSI,

hole cutting rule “on circles smaller the 1.5 in set feed to 60%”
any help on what I need to change.

How many amps?
Is this the first time you have tried holes in 1/2" plate?
Maybe table is binding in the X or Y axis?
Have you cut holes successfully in the past?

Set your plunge rate to 60 imp, and are you starting pierce at center of holes? If not try starting holes in center.

Running at 65 amp 72 psi should I change any of these setting?
We have cut 1/2 plate before with moderated success first time cutting holes
X and Y axis seam ok
trying to figure out if I have the correct setting for 1/2" plate any help would be great

Rat
I will try setting Plunge rate to 60 ipm
Will try starting hole in center but do not think that is it. The flat spot is on the other side of the lead in but will give that a shot

The flat spot is probably from lost motion in whatever axis that is. It’s either binding or slipping.

It’s not likely to be a cut setting that causes out of round holes.

BINGO! That is my guess. If you have not done it yet, use some lubrication on the lead screws. Many use silicone spray, others use fine machine oils or WD-40.

Make sure the couplers (where the motor shaft attached to the screw) are tight.

There are no couplers on the XR
