[SOLVED] X axis lead screw binding - bracket not square

Greeting!
I am in the process of finishing my assembly of my CFP, and have run into an issue I need help with. The Z axis assembly is binding up on the x-axis lead screw when it gets within about 6-8 inches of the y-axis rail on the home-side (the side with the electronics box). It is like it gets stuck on the screw or something. I have lubed the screw many times but that does nothing to help. I have loosened the x-axis lead screw nut to see if that helps (it doesn’t). When it binds up, I have to intermittently hit the jog button to move it off of that section of the lead screw. It will move 1-2 inches per button press. I’m out of ideas.

The rest of the screw is fine, and the Z axis assembly moves with ease along the rest of the lead screw.

I haven’t had a successful cut yet as I am still working on the wiring for my Everlast 62i, but everything else seems to be working fine. I did a successful pathing of what I want my first cut to be, but I couldn’t ge the torch to fire (like I said, I’m still working on that).

Thank you for reading. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you put the correct lead screw bearing block and motor mount.

I made the same mistake with the lead screw bearing block. There are two different sizes.

If possible post a video of your issue.

Are you sure you didn’t use a Y axis lead screw bearing mount on the X axis? They are different lengths.

If that’s not the case, the lead screw nut mounting bracket may not be square to the rail.

I got it working. I had to loosen the X-axis lead screw bracket. Apparently, when I tightened it, it was not square. Everything travels perfectly now.

Thanks guys!
