Slat bed not level

I have had one issue after another with this thing really would like to get it up and going. My slat bed is not level I set the height on the most extreme slat in the positive x direction when I jog the y direction my torch is almost touching the slat if I jog negative x at the end of y my torch will contact a slat in the middle. Not sure if the slats are sheared incorrectly or what. I’ve tried adjusting the casters as the video stated and nothing. Please help Langmuir

Hi @mightymitsu90,

I am sorry to hear you are having issues getting going. I wouldn’t say that this is a common issue, but thankfully it is very easy to get corrected. This thread covers how to fix it: Y-axis parallelism

Essentially what you would want to do is loosen the frame bolts but keep them snug. This will allow the joints to have some compliance so that the casters can be used to flatten out the slat bed. Once the torch tracks well along the slat, tighten up the frame bolts and double check that things haven’t moved.

I adjusted the casters all the way in and backed them off two turns loosened the frame bolts so they where still snug. Adjusted the casters and made no difference. The difference between -y and+y is about double. I am beyond frustrated and am about to disassemble the whole unit and start over. I noticed when moving the machine around the gantry height changes, the following pictures shows the difference of just one finger pushing against the unit.

How do I fix this issue the gantry arm is closer on +y then it is on -y this is from the frame to the gantry

Also these two bearing can spin when at +y
