Hey man, just wanted to follow up with you. I cut one of the Steelers signs today. Came out pretty good, but not great yet.
Somehow, again the orientation got changed when I made a few changes, but I was able to get it straightened out thanks to your help.
I still had a few things cut on outside (I think) instead of inside, even though I thought I confirmed every arrow.
If you look at this location in the picture above, you’ll see there is a noticeable difference in height of these slots, even though the dimensions are the same. Based on the cut defects in the corners, I think they cut outside instead of inside like the smaller slots. Same in some other areas where slots are larger than expected. Maybe my fault…?
Anyway, the guy (reports to me at work) is getting it for free, so I think he’ll be very happy. I am going to cut at least one with no flaws before I submit it back to fileshare.
Thanks again for the video. I hope others find it helpful too.
it seems some of those large slot have been selected on the wrong side of the line.
also the one piece of the B
(you can see the lead in and out marks on those.)
coming along, getting closer
Cut another one yesterday. It was definitely the CAM, not the CAD. You can see the cut widths are okay.
I posted an updated .dxf file to Fileshare. I am happy with the results, even though I had quite a few letters not drop out and needing to be cut from the backside. Probably lead-in/out length.
See above. Not sure why “Reply” did not register
