Converted my manual 48" 16 gauge box& pan brake to electric over hydraulic . Had extra hydraulic system sitting around figured I may as well give it a shot, works great.
Looks nice, can you control speed? I will have to add that to my list of things to do. God that list is getting big!
Nice job! I was thinking about doing this to my 8’.
No speed adjust, I am looking to some way of adding a speed control though.
Nice work sir!
I am jealous though.
Not only do you have a Box and Pan brake, but now you have a Hydraulic Box and Pan…
been kicking this idea around for a while, I bought the hydraulic unit for 6-foot-wide press brake that I am going to build.
Should be able to just use an adjustable in-line valve if you’re not looking to get fancy with your adjustable speed.
Adjustable flow control like a Parker f600s would work and is fairly cheap if your 5k psi and under. They get significantly more expensive once you step up to a 10k or so which is what enerpac pumps max out at which it doesn’t look like you have.
Make sure you don’t get one intended for air and remember they can be directional. The ones I deal with at work are reverse free flow. They also make fixed rate ones but you’re taking a shot in the dark on what you need
You could also put on some -4 lines from the pump to the cylinder on the pressure side. That is a pretty big cylinder, the -4 would choke it down considerably.
