I scaled it by a .78 scale factor in Sheetcam and it looks fine to me. It can’t fit the lead-in on some of the cuts, but it will cut fine. My kerf is only .045, so if yours is set to .06", it may not fit in some of the smaller cuts. The stars and the ovals are not small enough to cause any issues, though.
This may not be what you’re referencing, but…
Your toolpath will turn a light blue when it’s subject to rules that are slowing your program speed. Depending on your rules, some parts might be subject to the rules at the smaller size but not the larger size.
Thanks for the response. So I have a Hypertherm 45XP and use the settings out of the book for 18ga fine cut low speed, Kerf .031, cut speed 150. You are correct my concern are the blue lines, which I see in your picture as well. So if I understand this is simply program rules an will not effect the cutting. From what I read about blue lines I thought they did not cut. I misunderstood that. I will try this.
Thanks for your help.
The darker thin blue lines are the rapid movements in between cuts. Those will not cut.
This helps, I did not know there were different shades of blue lines.
The dark blue lines are the rapids between cuts. They won’t cut.
The light blue or teal colored lines are places where the program slows down due to path rules, like tight curves or sharp corners.
Everything you see in my picture will cut fine.
Hey All, Tried cutting but here is the error I got on the first lite blue line. What am I ding wrong? I really appreciate your help.
What is that M63 command with a pause? That is likely a command that Firecontrol doesn’t understand.
Do you have some code snippets that you got from some other program or youtube video?
I don’t have anything from any other file. I create in Fusion, load into sheetcam and use t for coding. This is why I don’t understand the problem.
That M63 command is not from the Firecontrol post processor in Sheetcam.
The only way for it to be there, is a code snippet or path rule that was set up in Sheetcam.
Did you import a toolset from someone else or follow a YouTube video to set up your tools in Sheetcam?
Fusion plays no part in this.
Not sure where I got the toolset from. I do wonder why I have to adjust settings all the time. I’m going to look for a new toolset to download.
Try creating your own tools. A tool set from any other brand of table will likely have other odd code snippets to turn THC on/off and Firecontrol will not understand them.
Been looking around. So my tollsets shielded and fine cut toolsets are Avid cnc for my plasma. I found another one, sheetcam that works perfect, No blue lines or errors. Problem is I don’t know if its shielded or fine cut AND it’s in mm. Guess I will experiment. Open to creating my own just not sure how to do it. Still very new to this process. Any help appreciated. Thanks
