RnR Motion Card Not Found – Was Working Same Day (Used CrossFire)

Hey guys,

I just picked up a used CrossFire (Gen 1, Mach3) today. I actually saw the machine cutting earlier this morning before bringing it home, so I know it was working.

After getting it set up at my place, I installed Mach3, the CrossFire profile, and the RnR plugin. Everything seems to be installed correctly, but I’m getting this error in Mach3:

“RnR Motion Card not found”

Here’s what I’ve checked so far:

Using CrossFire-v1.1 profile
RnR plugin is in the Mach3/Plugins folder
Controller shows up in Device Manager as an HID device
I have a flashing red LED on the motion board
Tried multiple USB ports
Restarted Mach3 and PC multiple times
Tried proper startup order (power on machine before launching Mach3)

From what I’ve read, this error usually means either:

USB/connection issue
Plugin/config issue
Or failed motion board

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

On the mach3 screen, does it say crossfire 1.1 on the bottom info window?

Also, if i remember, you might have to press the RESET button in mach3 before you can get anything to move.

IIRC I ‘think’ the ‘plug-in’ is not a plugin, but a device driver (DLL) and probably should be in the same folder at the MACH3.exe file.

EDIT: You’re right, it does go in the C:/Mach3/Plugins folder.

Thanks for the help, leaning towards a windows USB issue, updating windows tonight. I’ve had so many issues mostly with using USB programming cables for my radios I should not be surprised.

Yes, it is in the Crossfire 1.1 mode that I downloaded from the Langmuir legacy downloads page, and I have to press the reset button to even get that error. Leaning towards a windows issue, updating tonight.
