I am looking into a new Plasma table and machine and trying to research the best and the easiest to run when you are only working with this less often compared to many. Is Mach 4 the best fit at this time?

The control software depends on the machine. Mach 3 is the only software that the Crossfire supports to control it (execute the G-CODE).
There are lots of different ones and in fact Artsoft has released another one called Mach 4 but the Crossfire can’t use it. Mach 3 is very widely used.
