x2 for primeweld, i have the 225. it welds aluminium (alumium, aluminum) like a dream… and i suck at tig welding. i’ve burned a lot of 6010 and 7018 rod with it as well.

If you are not going to heliarc over 1/4 aluminum, then the 225 will be fine. I would go with the 325 if it’s in your budget, just because the duty cycle will never be an issue. Like I said before, I love to spend other people’s money.
I’m partial to the Everlast myself.

If you’re TIG welding a lot of thick aluminum, buy the biggest amperage machine you can afford. Ultimately, if you can help it, you don’t want to run helium to bring up your heat because it’s going to cost you a boatload. The option is there but it’s an expensive one.

I’ve had mine for about 6 years… maybe more… and I bought it so I didnt have to bring my Miller Dynasty 350 from work… and it compares in a Lot of ways… other than the price… a new miller is about 20k now… and the everlast… well… you know. The first thing I did though, was got a pedal from ssc C925-0725 TIG Foot Control Pedal for Everlast (22K to 25K Pot) - SSC Controls - The Foot Switch Experts.
and the torch as well. I purchased a CK flex head etc… as the everlast one was super stiff.
but I think those two items could be options now from everlast.
The machine has been excellent for everything I’ve thrown at it and at 1/4 the price… (at least) its well worth it. My 2 cents

The Everlast Nova Bluetooth foot pedal. I will never use a corded foot pedal again. Never.
