Recommendation on which plasma cutter to get

I have the crossfire pro and am starting the assembly. I will need a cutter in due time and don’t want to buy one only to need a better one later.
Any other suggestions are welcome.

Welcome to the forum!!
I bought a razorweld cut 45 with the original crossfire. that for me has been nothing but problems. It has currently been sent back for warranty work. Other people have not had problem one…
After doing all the research, I am going to replace mine with a Hypertherm xp45 !! I have not heard one thing bad about it. Yes it is a little pricey , but I wish I had save the money for a Hypertherm from the start.
there are several other people that have had good luck with other cutters as well.
Just remember consumables are going to be an ongoing cost to using a plasma cutter

Just my 2 cents

Consumables, are they brand specific?

I’ve got a hypertherm 65 that I’ve used with the hand torch for years. I got a machine torch for it to use on the pro (that I just finished assembling). It worked first time (once I figured out the machine torch) and cut flawlessly.

Hypertherm is spendy, plus $600 for a machine torch and a bit for the pre-made cable from langmuir for the CPC port, but the general consensus on this forum is that they are the goods. I haven’t tried the fine cut consumables, but they are apparently pretty nice too.

Hypertherm and hypertherm consumables.clean dry air You will have plenty of other hurdles, a good cutter can always be sold for good money if this adventure isn’t all you had hoped for.

Hypertherm is arguably the king of plasma. But, I have to say I’m really impressed with Prime Weld. I opted for the CUT 60 for my Crossfire setup. So impressed, found myself needing a TIG welder and bought a TIG225. Excellent machines and price point and, you can easily reach out to them by phone.
