Fusion 360 Lost Tools After Update

If you’ve lost your tools in Fusion 360 after an update, it might be due to the update process or changes in the software interface. The “Tools” tab has been renamed to “Utilities” in the January 2022 update, so check if the functionality is now under this new tab.2

If your tools are still missing, you can try the following steps:

  1. Ensure that the correct hub is selected in Fusion 360.3
  2. Check if your local tool library files have been deleted during the update or factory reset. Local tool libraries are typically saved in C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\CAM360\libraries\Local.4
  3. If the tools were stored in the cloud, you can recover them by going to myhub.autodesk360.com and checking if there is an earlier version of your library. If not, you can look in your cached file list, which is located at C:\Users\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\W.Login.5

If you have updated to the latest version of Fusion 360 and the issue persists, you may need to manually import the tool library files. Download the library file (.tools or .json) from the cloud, then use the Tool Library Manager to import it into Fusion 360.
